MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang assured on Thursday, September 20, that it will treat with utmost respect whatever the Office of the Ombudsman will decide on the case against Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson.

Deaf advocates filed a complaint against Uson and her friend blogger Drew Olivar after another controversial video of them surfaced on social media. The video showed Olivar parodying the sign language while Mocha can be heard laughing at his antics.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said they will abide by the Ombudsman should he rule to dismiss Uson. But for the meantime, President Rodrigo Duterte has not issued any order yet against Uson related to the recent controversy.

“Let’s wait for the investigation of the Ombudsman dahil mayroon namang ganyang complaint. The Ombudsman can order the dismissal of anyone in the government because it is both administrative at criminal case. Igagalang po ng palasyo ang proseso, pag sinabi ng Ombudsman sibakin, di po natin tututulan iyan,” Roque concluded. – Marje Pelayo (with reports from Rosalie Coz)
