MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte reclaimed his “very good” performance rating based on the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The third quarter 2018 SWS survey conducted among 1,200 respondents from September 15 to 23 showed that 70 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of President Duterte, 16 percent are not satisfied while 14 percent are undecided.
This results in a net satisfaction rating of +54 percent, classified by SWS as “very good.”
It is nine points higher than his lowest satisfaction rating of 45 percent in June.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the high ratings prove that the Filipino people appreciate the president’s hard wok despite the political noise.
The 2018 survey questionnaire also included the people’s view on some of the president’s controversial statements such as his criticism of the catholic church and his comment on the rape cases in Davao City.
Based on the survey, 83 percent of Filipinos found his statements against the Catholic church as vulgar, while 63 percent are dismayed when he attributed the high number of rape cases in Davao City to the high concentration of beautiful women in the city. — Rosalie Coz
