Dengue cases in the Philippines this year have increased by 21 percent.
The Department of Health (DOH) Dengue Surveillance Division said that from January 1 to October 6, over 138,000 individuals have contracted dengue.
This is a big jump from the 114,000 dengue cases recorded in the same period last year.
The highest number of cases were recorded in Central Luzon followed by NCR,Region 4-A, Ilocos Region and Western Visayas.
At present the number fatalities due to the disease has reached 700.
