QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Party events are common this season that’s why authorities have strengthened their monitoring on merry-making activities in the country.
In particular, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is focusing on the proliferation of party drugs especially in crowded places.
For this reason, PNP-Drug Enforcement Group Chief PCSupt. Albert Ferro on Wednesday (December 19) advised the public not to easily accept offers of drinks and food items from strangers.
Pwede kang ma-rape o malagay sa peligro,’ Ferro said.
Authorities are also monitoring activities in common party places such as bars and clubs where party drugs are commonly being traded.
Aside from party drugs, the police official also warned against the use of marijuana vapes.
Ferro cited a police operation on December 2 in Dasmariñas, Cavite where three suspects were arrested for selling vape marijuana.
” Ito po ang vials ng vape so sometimes nasu-supressed ang odor niya but when we tested this with the crime laboratory it tested positive of cannabis o marijuana so ito ay bawal sa ating bansa,” Ferro explained.
