MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to visit areas wrecked by Tropical Depression Usman in Bicol Region particularly, Camarines Sur.
The president is expected to have a command conference with the government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to personally assess the situation of the residents affected by the calamity, Malacañang said.
The palace also clarified that the president is satisfied with the preparations and response of different government agencies to the calamity.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties from the landslide following the onslaught of Usman continues to increase.
“Natural lamang na malungkot ang presidente sa panahon ng kalamidad pero ginawa naman natin ang lahat na maging handa but there are things you cannot control, may mga dumarating na panahon na talagang magkakaroon ng mga trahedya,” said Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo. — UNTV News & Rescue
