MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Consulate General on Tuesday night (May 28) posted on its official Facebook page that Consul General Rosalita Sayoc Prospero passed away in Toronto on Tuesday morning.
The Consulate General described Prospero as a “career diplomat who dedicated her life in the service of our country and its people.”
“Her remains will be brought home to the Philippines, in accordance with her wishes,” the Consul General said.
Prior to her assumption as Consul General in Toronto on May 24, 2015, Prospero served as Executive Director of the Office of the American Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Her previous diplomatic positions were in Sydney and Paris.
The Consul General’s office said details of Prospero’s memorial service will be released in due course.
