The Philippine National Police (PNP) has formed a task force to address school bullying.
According to PNP Spokesperson Pol. Col. Bernard Banac, from January 2017 to March 2019, there had been 22 reported cases of cyberbullying among minors.
“The PNP has formed task units to address bullying in schools and conduct intelligence and information gathering against kidnappings in schools, presence of improvised explosive devices, and other efforts against threats as feared by the public, as part of our police effort,” he said.
Banac also added that any form of bullying should be reported to the authorities to hold the suspect liable.
“When it comes to incidents of bullying, it is important that the victims should immediately inform the police to address these incidents,” he said.—(with reports from Lea Ylagan)
