“Binabaliw ako ng selos, ‘di ko man aminin…”
Filipino alt-rock band, The Vowels They Orbit’s first single, ‘Selos’ outlines the struggle of jealousy into a combination of alternative pop and jazz tone. With lyrics that hit close to home, ‘Selos’ resonates that ‘hugot vibe’ that makes it very relatable.
The song already peaked at the no. 2 spot on Spotify Philippines’s Viral 50 chart.
The band will launch the music video of their single ‘Selos’ on Wednesday (July 10) at the 70’s Bistro.
Band members, Nikka Melchor (vocals and rhythm guitar), Hannah Dela Cruz (keyboards and vocals), Jeremy Sayas (drums and vocals), Gene Santiago (lead guitars) and Patch Javier (bass guitars) began performing in small gigs and open mic venues. They were eventually signed by Soupstar Entertainment.
The vowels they orbit will also release their 5-track EP this year under Sony Entertainment. Other songs include ‘Kiliti’, ‘Pasa’, and ‘Bumubulong’—AAC
