
Iloilo Province was placed under state of calamity on Tuesday (July 23) due to the increasing number of dengue cases in the area.

The Iloilo Provincial Board has put the province under state of calamity to be able to use the P26.5-million calamity fund for medical supplies, insecticides and other necessities.
There are already 6,806 dengue cases recorded in the area with 23 reported deaths from January to July 13 this year. This is exceedingly higher compared with the 543 recorded cases from January to July 6, 2018.
