MANILA, Philippines – Isang malawakang walkout protest ang isinagawa ngayong Huwebes ng mga manggagawa mula sa pampubliko at pribadong sektor upang ipanawagan ang muling pagbuhay sa national minimum wage.

Pinangunahan ng campaign network na All Workers’ Unity ang protesta.

Ipinanawagan ng mga manggagawa ang pagbasura sa umiiral na Wage Rationalization Law na nagtatakda ng iba’t ibang halaga ng sahod ng mga manggagawa sa bawat rehiyon, at ang pagbalik sa fixed minimum wage na P16,000.

Nakiisa ang maraming manggagawa mula sa pribadong sektor sa national walkout protest.

Ang grupong Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), idinaan sa pag-iingay ang protesta sa mismong tanggapan ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Ayon kay KMU Chairperson Elmer Labog, ang mababang sahod ang dahilan kung bakit nasal imang libong mga Pilipino ang nagingibang bansa araw-araw upang kumita ng mas malaki.

“Sa tingin namin ay yung cost of living sa mga rehiyon labas ng Metro Manila ay hindi naman totoo na mas mababa in some cases kung saan towards tourism ang activity halimbawa Baguio, Cebu, Tagaytay mataas yung cost of living diyan.”

Ilang kawani rin ng pamahalaan ang lumabas sa kani-kanilang trabaho nitong tanghali upang makilahok sa protesta, kabilang ang ilang empleyado ng Korte Suprema, Senate of the Philippines, Sandiganbayan, Department of Agriculture (DA), National Housing Authority (NHA), State Corporations, at iba pang government agencies.

Ayon kay Rose Nartates, presidente ng National Housing Authority Consolidated Union of Employees, karamihan sa kanila ay nasa salary grade 1 pa rin.

Ito ang mga tumatanggap lamang ng kulang sampung libong piso kada buwan.

Kapag ibinawas pa ang mandatory deductions at utang ng mga empleyado ay hindi na ito sapat para sa pang-araw araw na gastusin ng isang pamilya.

“Ito yung totoong kalagayan ng mga kawani karamihan sa mga taong gobyerno ang salary na tinatanggap buwan buwan ay nasa P4,000 saan naman makakarating yun.”

“Dati sinasabi namin P6,000, pero dahil sa dami ng bilihin, kaya dapat 16,000 talaga ang minimum. Wala daw increase. Di ba binroadcast naman nila yan, ng DBM? Sinabi nila yan na ang hinihingi naming increase, hindi magkakatotoo, pero ang tax, matatax-an pa rin kami. Isipin nyo nga, wala na kaming increase tapos may tax pa,” hinaing pa ni Jojo Guerrero, presidente ng Supreme Court Employees Association.

“Yung batas, whether gusto kita o hindi, ito po ang batas, kaya dapat sundin nating lahat,” sagot naman ni Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares.

Paliwanag ng All Workers’ Unity, labing-anim na libong piso ang hinihingi nilang minimum wage dahil kalahati ito ng daily computed family living wage o cost of living.

Ang FLW ay ang minimum na halagang kailangan ng pamilyang may anim na miyembro para sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na food at non-food needs, dagdag pa ang sampung porsyentong alokasyon para sa savings.

MANILA, Philippines – Ang mga gadget at internet ang isa sa mga sinasabing dahilan kung bakit dumadalang ang mga mag-aaral na nagpupunta sa mga silid-aklatan o library.

Dahil sa mga modernong teklohiya, mas mabilis na ang pagre-research ng mga estudyante na kanilang kailangan sa pag-aaral.

Kayat upang maakit ang mga mag-aaral, isang modernong library ang binuksan ng De La Salle University (DLSU) sa Lipa, Batangas.

Maaring magdala rito ng cellphone ang mga estudyante at lalong hindi ipinagbabawal ang pag-uusap.

“Iba na kasi trend ngayon, it is really to support the 21st century learners na hindi na yung “pshht” na very traditional nowadays,” saad ni Lilian Rabino, Chief Librarian.

“That’s what we are trying to change the library now becomes social hub, if you notice we have group discussions room and we have internet station. Since we started putting this library we are seeing more student seeing it than we were before,” pahayag naman ni Bro. Joaquin Martinez, President & Chancellor.

Nakadisplay sa palibot ng library ang mga sculpture at mga art painting na donasyon ng mga Filipino artist sa buong Pilipinas.

Pinarangalan ng unibersidad ang mga artist dahil sa kanilang ambag para sa pagaaral ng mga estudyante.

Ayon sa Pinoy painter na si Lino Cacasio, “Kapag nakita nila hahanga sila dahil di naman nila kayang gawin kapag na-appreciate nila pwede silang matuto.”

“Parang nahihikayat kami na pumunta dito kasi mas nai-inspire kami na mas magaral,” saad naman ng estudyante na si Jennifer Torres.

Bukas sa lahat ng estudyante sa Batangas ang bagong library magdala lang ng referral letter mula sa mga librarian ng kanilang eskwelahan.

MANILA, Philippines – Naglabas na ang World Health Organization (WHO) ng ng mga gabay o panuntunan sa tamang pamamaraan ng pagsusuot at paggamit ng personal protective equipment o PPE para sa Ebola virus.

Ito’y matapos umani ng batikos ang ginawang pagbisita ng ilang opisyal ng Department of Health (DOH) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa mga peacekeeper na kasalukyang naka-quarantine sa Caballo Island.

Ang PPE ay proteksyon ng isang health worker na hahawak sa mga pasyenteng apektado ng Ebola virus upang hindi mahawa.

Sa inilabas na guidelines ng WHO, nakasaad dito na dapat na isuot ang PPE kapag mayroong close contact sa isang taong may sintomas ng Ebola virus.

Maari lamang din itong gamitin ng isang health worker na dumaan sa training.

Binigyang diin rin dito na limitado ang suplay ng PPE sa buong mundo kaya’t dapat lamang itong gamitin kung kakailangnin na.

Paliwanag ng WHO, hindi airborne disease ang Ebola kaya’t makahahawa lamang ito kapag nagkaroon ng close contact sa body fluid secretions ng isang taong may sintomas na ng sakit gaya ng dugo, pawis, laway at semilia.

Una nang idinepensa ni DOH Acting Secretary Janette Garin ang hindi nito paggamit ng PPE sa ginawang pagbisita sa Caballo Island kamakailan.

Giit ng DOH, wala silang nilabag na protocol sa pagbisita sa mga sundalong kasalukuyang naka-quarantine.

Kahapon ay humingi na ng paumanhin ang kalihim sa kalituhan sa paggamit ng PPE na naidulot ng kanyang pagpunta sa Caballo Island.

Sa kasalukuyan ay walang ipinatutupad na general ban ang WHO sa mga lugar na apektado ng Ebola virus.

Hindi rin nito inirerekomenda na sumailalim sa general quarantine ang lahat ng mga biyahero na magmumula sa West Africa.

Bukas naman ang Department of Health sa rekomendasyon na ito ng WHO, ngunit ayon kay DOH Spokesperson Dr. Lyndon Lee Suy, mas makabubuti pa rin ang ibayong pagiingat upang hindi makapasok sa bansa ang nakamamatay na virus.

“We respect their recommendation, the same way naiitindihan naman nila kung bakit tayo naghihigpit, kasi sabi nga natin mapulaan na tayo sa paghihigpit kaysa naman magkaproblema,” saad nito.

Samantala, pinabulaanan naman ni Dr. Lee Suy ang balitang may isang Pinoy seafarer na umano’y positibo sa Ebola virus.

“May nagkasakit on board on a cruise ship, but it turned out to be not Ebola naman,” pahayag pa nito.

Ayon kay Dr. Lee Suy, sa kasalukuyan ay sumasailalim na sa mga pagsusuri ang naturang Pinoy seafarer upang malaman kung may iba pa itong karamdaman.

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Philippines – Hindi kinukunsinti ng National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region III ang mga pulis na lumalabag at umaabuso sa kanilang tungkulin.

Ayon kay NAPOLCOM Regional Director Atty. Manuel Pontanal, katunayan nito ay mahigit isandaang pulis sa Central Luzon ang kanilang iniimbestigahan dahil sa mga kasong administratibo.

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama imposed the most sweeping immigration reform in a generation on Thursday, easing the threat of deportation for some 4.7 million undocumented immigrants and setting up a clash with Republicans who vow to fight his moves.

In a White House speech, Obama rejected Republican arguments that his decision to bypass Congress and take executive action was tantamount to amnesty for illegal immigrants.

It was his biggest use of executive actions in a year in which they have become his signature way of working around congressional gridlock.

“Amnesty is the immigration system we have today, millions of people who live here without paying their taxes or playing by the rules,” he said.

Republicans pounced quickly, charging Obama had overstepped his constitutional powers a year after declaring he did not have the authority to act on his own.

In a video released before Obama’s televised speech, House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner said: The president has said before that ‘he’s not king’ and he’s ‘not an emperor,’ but he sure is acting like one.”

With 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, Obama’s plan would let some 4.4 million who are parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents remain in the country temporarily, without the threat of deportation.

Those undocumented residents could apply legally for jobs and join American society, but not vote or qualify for insurance under the president’s healthcare law. The measure would apply to those who have been in the United States for at last five years.

An additional 270,000 people would be eligible for relief under the expansion of a 2012 move by Obama to stop deporting people brought illegally to the United States as children by their parents.

MIXED REACTIONS

The president, speaking two weeks after he and his Democrats were trounced in midterm elections, appeared confident and determined at the White House podium. Outside, pro-migrant demonstrators watched his speech on their smartphones and chanted support for him.

“Si se puede (Yes we can),” they shouted and sang the American national anthem.

Obama urged Republicans not to take steps against his plan that could lead to a government shutdown, raising the specter of a crisis that some conservatives would like to push but Republican leaders of Congress want to avoid.

Republicans were blamed for a shutdown over spending a year ago and are seeking ways to deny funding for his immigration steps without provoking a year-end budget crisis.

“Congress certainly shouldn’t shut down our government again just because we disagree on this,” Obama said.

Obama’s moves have ramifications for the campaign to succeed him in 2016 by possibly solidifying Hispanic support behind Democrats. Republican candidates may tread carefully around the issue to avoid a Latino backlash. But polls show many Americans would prefer Obama not act alone.

Obama said trying to deport all 11 million people living in the country illegally was not realistic. His voice took on an empathetic tone as he described the struggle of illegal immigrants to avoid getting deported.

“I’ve seen the heartbreak and anxiety of children whose mothers might be taken away from them just because they didn’t have the right papers,” he said.

But Michael McCaul, Republican chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, warned: “We will see a wave of illegal immigration because of the president’s actions, and in no way is the Department of Homeland Security prepared to handle such a surge.”

He pledged to “use every tool at my disposal to stop the president’s unconstitutional actions from being implemented.”

Lindolfo Carballo of Arlington, Virginia, who was among the demonstrators outside the White House, said: “It is personal for him (Obama), I think.”

Nearby, a smaller group protested Obama’s action.

“This is illegal, what he’s doing,” said Manny Vega, a retired U.S. Marines sergeant from Fredericksburg, Virginia.

‘PASS A BILL’

Obama said his actions were the kinds of steps taken by Republican and Democratic presidents for the past half century.

“And to those members of Congress who question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or question the wisdom of me acting where Congress has failed, I have one answer: Pass a bill,” he said.

Administration officials described Obama’s actions as the biggest shift in immigration policy since 1986 changes enacted during President Ronald Reagan’s administration.

Some legal analysts said Congress could struggle to win a lawsuit to overturn the action since presidents have historically had broad authority to act on immigration.

“When an issue is mostly political, the judicial branch generally is not going to want to step in the middle of a dispute between the executive branch and the legislature,” said Ted Ruthizer, an immigration attorney at Kramer Levin.

(Reuters) - Norma Martinez, an undocumented mother of two girls born in New Jersey after she arrived illegally from El Salvador in 2007, worries the Obama administration’s new immigration program might provide fleeting protections that a new president could easily reverse.

“I don’t want to go on living in hiding,” said Martinez, 34, adding that she would happily sign up and pay a fine to avoid deportation.

“But what happens if they take the program away, it would mean automatic deportation,” she added, saying she and her husband, also undocumented, might be better off staying out of sight until a permanent solution is reached.

In an address to the nation on Thursday night, President Barack Obama outlined executive action to let some 4.4 million parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents remain in the United States temporarily, without the threat of deportation. He said he took the step after Congress failed to pass immigration reform legislation.

As details of the speech filtered through immigrant communities across the United States, many undocumented Hispanics remained skeptical, saying the new temporary benefits offered by the White House might not be worth the risk of coming out of the shadows.

While Obama’s so-called “deferred action” for parents of children who are U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents could offer temporary status to as many as 5 million immigrants, the many shortcomings detract from its benefits, experts say.

“It’s a step in the right direction, but it’s going to fall far short of the mark,” said Cheryl Little, a veteran immigration advocate and director of Miami-based Americans for Immigrant Justice.

“Deferred action is not legal status, it’s simply a temporary reprieve from deportation,” she added.

Eligible applicants would have to come forward and provide all relevant documents to the immigration authorities, including how long they have been in the country, their source of income, and place of work.

Immigrants who have lived illegally in the United States for many years can be afraid to sign up for fear of future deportation if their temporary status runs out, as well as large fines and exposure to unpaid medical bills, said Mark Hugo Lopez with the Pew Hispanic Center.

“Who knows who the next president will be and if they might take this protection away,” he said.

Immigrants may also lack the proper documentation to prove eligibility, he added, amounting to huge uncertainty over the benefits of signing up.

Only 55 percent of the estimated 1.2 million young people eligible under a 2012 program that offered temporary relief for the children of unauthorized immigrants have applied, according to an August report by the Migration Policy Institute.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) offers a two-year work permit to qualifying young adults ages 15 to 30 who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

Obama’s executive action is the most significant move to protect unauthorized immigrants since 1986, when Congress passed legislation allowing almost 3 million people in the country illegally to obtain residency, and ultimately U.S. citizenship.

Even under that program only 36 percent of those eligible became U.S. citizens, said Lopez. “Many of them are too busy working, and it’s expensive. They worry about not being able to pass the exam because they don’t speak English,” Lopez added.

A survey by the Pew Hispanic Center in late October found that only 26 percent of Latino adults were aware of the debate over Obama’s use of executive action. Among those who had heard about it 38 percent were either disappointed or angry, while only 25 percent were pleased or very happy.

Miami-born Christy Gaspar, 20, who lives in Homestead in south Florida with her Guatemalan parents, who are legal residents, said she worried about six uncles who are undocumented.

“They are not going to trust anything the president says,” Gaspar explained. “He hasn’t kept his promises,” she added, noting how record number of immigrants have been deported under the Obama administration.

Two weeks ago, federal immigration agents arrested one of her uncles, along with half-a-dozen other men who are in the U.S. illegally, Gaspar said.

“He was let go after being granted a bond, but some of the men were deported,” she said.

Another of Gaspar’s uncles, Guillermo, has lived in the United States for 15 years and has two U.S. born children, but was unsure about Obama’s announcement. “I put my faith in God that what he says is true. … I hope he helps us, but I’m still afraid of being deported.”

Mary Alfaro, a 37-year-old undocumented Mexican mother of two U.S.-born children who has been living in south Florida since 1995, called Obama’s decision a partial solution.

“We need more than an executive order. We need a law that addresses the immigrant population. It’s a small victory. But we are on the right track.”

Magkakaroon rin ng moment of silence at candle lighting sa Maguindanao massacre marker sa NPC grounds para sa mga biktima ng karumaldumal na pamamaslang.

Pagkatapos nito ay makikilahok ang mga kaanak ng mga pinaslang sa musical concert at poetry reading.

Samantala, isang wreath laying ceremony ang isasagawa sa Linggo, Nobyembre 23, para sa mga pumanaw na mga miyembro ng media sa tanggapan ng NPC.

Ipinaliwanag naman ni Egco na napagdesisyunan nilang ipagpaliban sa taong ito ang usual protest march na kanilang isinasagawa sa Mendiola bridge bilang panawagan sa mabilis na pag-usad ng Maguindanao massacre case.

MANILA, Philippines – Inamin ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na naalarma sila nang lumabas sa isang news website sa United Kingdom (UK) at iba pang websites na mga larawan at video na tinukoy umano ng mga sundalong Kurdish na kasama ng mga ISIS fighter sa kanilang pamamaslang ang isang Pilipinong jihadist noong Miyerkules.

Subalit ayon sa AFP, hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ring opisyal na ulat na magpapatunay kung Pilipino nga ang ipinakita sa video at larawan na nailathala na sa internet.

Bagama’t hindi maikakaila na may Asian facial features ang isa sa mga kasama ng mga ISIS fighter.

“Walang nakarating na ulat sa ating opisina kung ano ba talaga ang kaniyang katauhan, kasi sabi ko nga he could be any citizen of an East Asian country dahil Malay race,” pahayag ni Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc, hepe ng AFP-PAO.

Dagdag pa ni Cabunoc, isang paraan upang makakuha sila ng impormasyon ay sa pamamagitan ng pakikipag-ugnayan sa military forces ng ibang bansa sa Asya tulad ng Indonesia at Malaysia.

“Ang masasabi ko lang we have close coordinations with different armed forces, mayroon tayong magandang relasyon with them.”

Dagdag pa ni Cabunoc, wala ring natatanggap na tawag o feed back ang AFP sa sinoman na nagsasabing kamag-anak o kakilala nila ang nalathalang larawan at video ng umano’y Pilipino jihadist.

MANILA, Philippines – Aprubado na ng senado ang tatlong bilyong pisong budget para sa libreng public Wi-Fi sa bansa.

Sa ilalim ng senate version ng 2015 national budget, inaprubahan ng Senate Committee on Finance na taasan ang budget ng DOST na P3-billion mula sa P338 million para sa Wi-Fi program nito.

Layunin nito na makatulong sa pagpapaunlad ng edukasyon, pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga magsasaka at traders.

Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa 50, 872 Wi-Fi spots ang inisyal na ilalagay ng DOST sa iba’t ibang lugar sa bansa sa susunod na taon.

Kabilang na rito ang mga public high schools, elementary schools, state colleges, public libraries, public spaces at mga bayan. (UNTV News)

MANILA, Philippines – Nagkasundo ang malalaking mall sa Metro Manila na mag-adjust ng operating hours upang makatulong sa pagpapaluwag ng traffic ngayong holiday season.

Ayon sa Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), 15% hanggang 20% ang nadadagdag sa traffic volume sa lansangan kapag dumarating ang buwan ng Nobyembre at Disyembre.

Ayon sa ahensya, madalas ang traffic congestion sa mga lugar malapit sa mga naglalakihang shopping mall, lalo na kapag nagsasabay-sabay ang mga ito sa pagdedeklara ng mga holiday sale.

Dahil dito, nagbigay ng opsyon ang MMDA sa mga mall operator na mai-adjust ang kanilang operating hours.

Kabilang sa opsyon na iprinisenta ng MMDA ang “open late, close late” kung saan 11AM magbubukas ang mall at 11PM na magsasara.

“Open late, close early” option, alas-12 ng tanghali magbubukas at ala-7 ng gabi magsasara, habang “open early, close early” option mula 8AM hanggang 7PM.

Opsyon din ang “open early, close late”, mula 9AM hanggang 11PM, at ang “open 24/7” option.

Nagkasundo ang mga mall operator na mag-operate simula alas-11 ng umaga hanggang alas 11 ng gabi, simula November 28 hanggang January 3 sa susunod na taon.

Habang ang Robinsons Mall sa Manila ay magooperate naman simula 9AM hanggang 11PM sa parehong petsa.

Regular mall hours naman simula December 24 hanggang 25, at December 31 hanggang January 1.

Plano rin ng MMDA na makipagpulong sa ilang mall kung posibleng makapag-operate naman sila ng 24 oras.

“Pag rush hour sa umaga hindi kasabay magbukas yung mall, kapag rush hour sa gabi hindi kasabay magsara yung mall kaya hindi sabay lalabas sa kalye,” pahayag ni MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino.

Samantala, hindi naman nangangamba ang mga mall operators na malugi sa adjustment ng kanilang operating hours, hiling lamang nila na sana ay mabigyansila ng sapat na panahon upang maianunsyo ang pagbabago sa kanilang mga customers.

Payag naman ang ilang mall goers sa pagbabago sa skedyul, habang ang ilang retailer ay tutol sa panukala.

Ayon kay Atty. Paul Santos, VP for External Affairs ng Philippine Retailers Association, masyadong matagal ang isang buwan.

“That’s more than a month, for retailers such as ourselves that will mean higher operating cost.”

Samantala, pinakiusapan rin ng MMDA ang mga mall operator na magamit ang mga security guards upang makatulong sa pagsasaayos ng traffic sa mga lugar na kanilang nasasakupan bukod pa sa ide-deploy na mga traffic constable sa paligid ng mga mall.

(Reuters) – Manny Pacquiao knocked down American challenger Chris Algieri six times to retain his WBO welterweight championship in Macau on Sunday morning.

The first knockdown, in the second round, was a combination of a Pacquiao punch and Algieri slipping on the canvas but in the sixth round Algieri tumbled head over heels after a Pacquiao barrage and went down again in the same round from a right hook.

A fierce left cross in the ninth sent Algieri to his back. He beat the count, but dropped to his knees from a follow-up flurry and seemed on the verge of being stopped as Pacquiao unleashed a fusillade of punches against the ropes.

Somehow the American survived that round and despite being knocked down by another left hand in the tenth, made it to the final bell.

Algieri (20-1, 9 KOs), who suffered his first defeat, had earned the shot against Pacquiao by overcoming a swollen right eye and two knockdowns against Russia’s Ruslan Provodnikov in his previous outing but he was never remotely in this contest.

Although he circled constantly to his left and attempted to keep Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) at a distance with his superior reach, he rarely landed any consequential punches.

“It’s not just his hand speed,” said Algieri afterward of Pacquaio. “He’s a great fighter. He does everything well. I was never hurt, but he did catch me with a big shot.”

Although Pacquiao sometimes struggled to hit Algieri cleanly because of his opponent’s backward motion, the punches he did land took their toll.

“I did my best,” reflected Pacquaio. “Algieri was fast-moving. I’m not surprised that he kept getting up, because that’s what he did against Ruslan Provodnikov.”

The win raised once more the prospect of a long-anticipated clash with undefeated American Floyd Mayweather, a fight that Pacquiao said he welcomed.

“I want that fight,” he said. “The fans deserve that fight.”

MANILA, Philippines — May pork barrel pa rin sa 2015 proposed national budget ayon kay Senador Miriam Defensor  Santiago bukod dito binatikos rin ng senadora ang depenisyon ng “saving”.

Ani Sen. Santiago sa privilege speech nito, “The first question is: In the form of so-called savings, can the president still transfer an appropriation from one agency to another?  The answer is, Yes.  The second question is: Does the 2015 budget still contain pork barrel, meaning lump-sum  funds to be spent at the discretion of the legislators?  The second answer is, also, Yes.”

Paliwanag ni Senador Santiago na noong 2014 budget, ang termino ng PDAF ay ipinagbawal.

Ngunit ang presensya nito ay malinaw na lantad pa rin .

Ayon kay Santiago ang paglilipat ng 25.4 billion pesos sa limang ahensya ng pamahalaan at may kontrol ng mga mambabatas ay nasa 2015 budget pa rin.

“In the 2015 budget, no less than P37.3 billion worth of projects are allocated to the following agencies: DPWH (with P18.369-Billion for  “land infrastructure program”), DOH, DSWD, DOLE at CHED.

Bukod dito binatikos rin ang isyu ng 269 page na errata sa budget na P4.7 billion.

Rekomendasyon ni Senador Santiago na ibalik na lang ang dating depinisyon ng savings at sundin ang nakasaad sa batas.

Samantala, kinuwestyon naman ni Senador Vicente Sotto III ang isang bilyong pisong budget ng Department of Health para sa family planning supplies.

Nahayag  din na walang sertipikasyon ito mula sa Food and Drug Administration.

Kabilang sa family planning commodities ang mga sumusunod: sub-dermal implant, medical supplies for implant insertions, combined oral contraceptive pills, injectibles , IUD’s, bilateral tubal ligation, non-scalpel vasectomy.

Ani Senate Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III, “May we know from the DOH if all the identify family planning commodities included in there list have a certification from the FDA, that they are safe and non-abortifacient.”

Pahayag naman ng chairman ng Senate Committee on Health na si Sen. Teofisto Guingona III, “Mr. Chairman, the Department of Health is awaiting the FDA certification. That’s why even for this year 2014 they have not purchased yet.”

Kaya naman rekomendasyon ni Sotto, wag muna itong paglaanan ng budget kung wala pa namang certification sa FDA.

Si Sotto ay isa rin sa nangunguna sa pagtutol na maging batas Reproductive Health Bill noon sa Senado.
