The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) yesterday urged job seekers to take advantage of the job fairs that the department will mount this month of June, saying the job fairs are meant to make it easier for them to search for their dream jobs.
“On the occasion of the country’s 116th Independence Day Anniversary commemoration, we are announcing our full job fair schedule for June so that job seekers and employers alike will have ample time to prepare,” Secretary of Labor and Employment Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said in a news release.
Nationwide, the 116th Independence Day Anniversary is being celebrated on the theme, “Pagsunod sa Yapak ng mga Dakilang Pilipino, Tungo sa Malawakan at Permanenteng Pagbabago”.
Baldoz said there will be 16 job fairs on June 12 to be hosted by local government units and their Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) in several key regions nationwide.
“The PESO-sponsored Independence Day job fairs schedules are posted at the Phil-Jobnet website, www.phil-job.net, for the benefit of job seekers. The site is hosted by the DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment,” she said.
The June 12 job fairs are as follows: National Capital Region (NCR)–Independence Day Job Fair, South Drive, Luneta, Manila, hosted by the DOLE-NCR; Independence Day Job Fair, SM Center Muntinlupa, Muntinlupa City, hosted by the City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO); Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)–University of Baguio Gymnasium, hosted by PESO-Baguio City and DOLE-CAR; La Trinidad Foundation Day Jobs Fair, La Trinidad Municipal Gymnasium, hosted by La Trinidad LGU; Region I–Dagupan Kalayaan Job Fair, The Atrium, Nepo Mall, Dagupan City, hosted by Dagupan City LGU; Candon City Kalayaan Job Fair, Candon City, Ilocos Sur hosted by Candon City LGU; and La Union Kalayaan Job Fair, Manna Mall, San Fernando City, La Union, hosted by San Fernando LGU;

Baldoz said that more than 30 job fairs will be offered by LGUs and PESOs for the rest of June 2014. These are as follows:
