The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) will open free lessons on Filipino Sign Language (FSL) online beginning May 30.
Instead of asking for fees, the college department will be accepting donations to raise funds for deaf students who are stranded in their dormitories amid the community quarantine.
Beneficiaries of the fundraising also include FSL Learning Program faculty who are on no-work-no-pay scheme, and for the FSL Access Team for COVID-19 who work as media interpreters.
“Proceeds will also fund indigent deaf scholars who need to return to their respective provinces after the Extended Community Quarantine is lifted,” according to the DLS-CSB.
Classes will start at 4:00 p.m. through Facebook Live on DLS-CSB’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies Facebook page. AAC
