MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines on Friday posted 10,670 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the nationwide total of recorded infections to 2,643,494.
The Department of Health (DOH) said the number of active infections in the country has gone down to 118,203.
Of this tally, 77.7 percent are mild, 13.4 percent are asymptomatic, 5.15 percent are moderate, 2.7 percent are severe, and 1.1 percent are in critical condition.
Two laboratories failed to submit data on time, the DOH noted.
Meanwhile, total tally of recoveries has risen to 2,486,059 after 7,691 more patients recuperated from the viral disease.
Number of deaths related to COVID-19 has reached 39,232 with the addition of 191 new fatalities.
DOH data also showed a positivity rate of 16.9 percent out of the 58,583 tests reported on Oct. 6.
The DOH said that ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients are 72 percent occupied nationwide, and 71 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Ventilators in use are 52 percent of the total 3,400 nationwide, and 55 percent of the 1,100 units in the capital region.
