MANILA, Philippines – Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee will only have four more hearings on the alleged anomalies when Vice President Jejomar Binay was still the mayor of Makati.
These include Makati City Hall Parking Building 2, hacienda in Batangas, Boy Scout of the Philippines and Pag-Ibig Fund.
Hearings are to be completed before Congress adjourns session this March.
“We just wanted to expose all of these so we could finished the hearings hopefully before we adjourn this March,” Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said.
There are already 14 hearings conducted by the subcommittee on the issues to which the Vice President is being tagged.
Sen. Trillanes replied to criticism that the committee has not accomplished anything nor it filed charges against Binay.
“Two cases were already filed in relation with the Makati Parking Building and the Makati Science High School building, so whether we file a committee report or not, it’s already there,” said the senator.
Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III said on Thursday that they have no plans of inviting the Binay’s again.
Trillanes also clarified that Mayor Binay was released because it is only contempt for non attendance.
When he attended and appeared before the Senate last Thursday, however, the objective of the arrest order was already carried out.
Next week, the subcommittee will continue the probe on BSP and Pag-Ibig Fund.
The Senate will also continue to effect the arrest of the resource persons who were cited for contempt. (Mon Jocson / UNTV News)
