MANILA, Philippines – The shooting of the wounded Philippine National Police-Special Action Force member twice in the head is unacceptable.
This is the reaction of PNP spokesman upon seeing the video that went viral on Facebook.
PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr. said even in wars, laws are still observed.
Cerbo said the killing of the unarmed and defenseless SAF member is against the law.
He admitted that it is disheartening to watch the video where the assailant didn’t only make sure the SAF member is dead but also seized his belongings.
“What happened there is terrible, even war and conflicts there are protocols followed, there is an international humanitarian law, that’s plain and simple murder because the man shot in the video is defenseless,” he said.
Cerbo added it’s an act of barbaric men and the Board of Inquiry should investigate it.
“We could say that what we have seen in the video is lawless and criminal, whatever we call it, someone should be held liable for this,” Cerbo added.
The general insisted they will not take the incident sitting down and ascertained they will file charges against whoever committed it. (Lea Ylagan / UNTV News)
