MANILA, Philippines – After more than ten hours of the Senate inquiry of the Mamasapano clash on Monday and Tuesday, the officials of the DND, DILG, AFP, PNP, government and MILF peace panel attended inquiry at the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Just like in the Senate, the statement of each lawmaker was limited to give way to the explanation and answer of the resource persons.

But in the Lower House, more lawmakers wanted to ask questions.

Even before the start of the briefing, the setting of schedule of the next hearing was argued over which lasted for about thirty minutes.

After several congressmen posed their questions, another argument ensued.

Throughout the hearing, different emotions were heard inside the committee-hearing hall.

House Committee on National Security chair Congressman Rodolfo Biazon himself gave the suggestion to combine the hearings of Congress and the Senate for the sake of AFP and PNP officials.

Both the AFP and PNP, who are facing the biggest controversy these last few days are in favor of having only one inquiry into the Mamasapano incident.

“We can use only one venue so that we have to do the explaining and questioning only once,” Col. Restituto Padilla Jr., AFP Spokesman said.

Presently, the public is also asking if two separate hearings of both houses of Congress on what really happened in Mamasapano will help in determining the whole truth.

Or would it be better to combine the investigations of the two, which are both branches of the legislative. (Rosalie Coz / UNTV News)
