MANILA, Philippines – “Now that the world’s confidence in us has gone up, now that we have reached the investment grade, now that the country is receiving praises left and right, now that the opportunities created by the growing economy are piling up, we are all the more persistent to upgrade the quality of life of every Filipino.

The remaining one year and 3 months we have in office, we will double our efforts and will shower the seeds of opportunities that we planted with diligence,” President Benigno Aquino III said.

The good track of the country’s economy is one of the reasons for Pres. Aquino’s deep desire to continue the reforms he had started until his term ends.

This was part of President Aquino’s speech at an event that gave recognition to women with small businesses and grocery store owners held Wednesday morning in Pasay City as part of the International Women’s Month.

Pres. Aquino said, he will give it to the women and the public to have a hand in continuing the reforms started by the government.

Despite the issues that the government is facing, Pres. Aquino said that he is confident that the citizenry will side with what is right.

“I trust that the Filipinos will take the side of truth and reason, and Juan and Juana dela Cruz will continue to strive for the country and fellowmen,” he said.

Lastly, the President guarantees that opportunities for women will always be available under his administration. (Nel Maribojoc / UNTV News)
