The Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) has accepted today (Thursday) the quo warranto petition which seeks to unseat Sen. Grace Poe from office.

Former senatorial candidate Rizalito David already brought with him the filing fee of 50 thousand pesos which he lacked yesterday (Wednesday) when he first attempted to file the petition.

David said he was able to raise the amount from various donations from friends, and partymates from Kapatiran partylist.

However, he refused to disclose the names of the donors but insisted that it came from friends and ordinary citizens who believe in their cause.

In his petition, David mentioned that poe is ineligible to be senator because of her citizenship issues and failure to comply with the required years of residency.

Meanwhile, Sen. Grace Poe is grateful that these circumstances will pave way for her to resolve these issues.

She stressed that she is a Filipino and a resident of the Philippines. She serves the pubic with integrity and she is ready to defend herself for the sake of the trust given to her by the electorate.

The petition against Sen. Grace Poe will have to go through the determining process of the tribunal to see if there is merit and sufficient basis.
