PASAY CITY, Philippines — A better and stronger UNTV Rescue was launched during the celebration of UNTV’s 11th anniversary yesterday, August 25.
Hundreds of new UNTV rescuers across the country were introduced.
A new hotline for emergency situations was also launched – the 911-UNTV or 911-8688.
BMPI-UNTV CEO Daniel Razon said, “UNTV News And Rescue team is ready with God’s help and equipped with the knowledge and advance skill in rescue operations and with the help of God we will be able to meet the task ahead of us. Kami po ang inyong maliliit na mga lingkod laging nakahanda na tumulong sa awat tulong ng Panginoon, and let me officially introduce po sa inyo ang atin pong official launch ng 911-UNTV”

The underwater rescue was introduced as the newest addition to UNTV’s rescue services. TV actor and licensed scuba instructor, Jess Lapid was assigned as the head of the underwater rescue team that underwent training with Kuya Daniel Razon.
The 2nd UNTV rescue summit was also conducted today.
Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon led the opening of the summit with NCRPO Chief Joel Pagdilao and Progressive Broadcasting president and owner UNTV Mr. Atom Henares.
The rescue summit showcased emergency response equipment and practical demonstration of life saving skills.
Vehicles used by UNTV in rescue operations such as the ambulance, fire truck, rescue truck and boat, amphibious car and quad ski, and equipment such as the first aid and medical kit were also displayed.
Aside from these, various drones used by UNTV news and rescue teams were also on display such as rescue drones, underwater drones, and drones used in news gathering and reporting traffic situation in an area.
Selected resource persons also gave seminars and lectures on how to save lives.
Various government agencies also participated and shared their knowledge in disaster preparation. (UNTV News)
