MANILA, Philippines  —  As the UNTV cup opens its 4th season, different charities and foundations will again receive financial help from different team of various government agencies who joined the only basketball for cause in the country, led by mr.Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon.

UNTV Cup is the first ever charity game dedicated for public servants who aim to help needy people through playing basketball.

This season, among the chosen beneficiary organizations are Kythe Foundation incorporated, Philippine Children’s Medical Center and Philippine Cerebral Palsy Incorporated.

Kythe foundation is an organization that helps attend to the medication of children with cancer, while PCMC is one of the hospitals in the country that serve children with various chronic diseases. PCPI on the other hand, is a group that helps send children with cerebral palsy into therapy.

According to Jara Ehera the deputy director for hospital services of PCMC, the money that they have received will help improve their hospital services for their patients.

“It is a big help, because you know treatment cost are now getting expensive, especially if it’s a specialty disease that needs hospice treatment. That’s why we really need your support, because the government alone cannot assume all the responsibility of spending for our poor patients, so we really need partners like UNTV and this is a very good opportunity for us to keep on partnering with UNTV,” Ehera said.

For Philippine Cerebral Palsy Incorporated, aside from the financial help given by UNTV Cup to their foundation, it is also a great opportunity for kids with cerebral palsy to watch these kind of basketball tournament that will bring them simple joys.

According to PCPI executive director Precy Declaro-Deluria, “This is a great opportunity to spread the advocacy, particularly to those who are incapacitated, that despite the fact that they cannot move normally, they still have the chance to enjoy watching this kind of games.”

Kythe foundation admires the advocacy of Kuya Daniel and hopes that this will continue so that more people will receive assistance, especially the children who are incapacitated due to illness. (UNTV News)
