UNTV and MCGI volunteers in Canada troop to Canadian Blood Services for blood donation as part of their celebration of the 11th anniversary of UNTV.

TORONTO, Canada — In celebration of UNTV’s 11th anniversary, volunteers have gathered to launch a mass blood donation drive in Toronto.

It was in response to a call from Canadian Blood Services due to the decline in number of blood donors in Canada.

Inspired by the advocacy of Bro. Eli Soriano and Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon that no good works would bear evil, volunteers from UNTV and MCGI or Members Church of God International helped in encouraging people to donate blood.

CBS’ clinic-in-charge Maria Martins was overwhelmed by the support.

“When people have like the Church of God coming in and donating as a group, we really appreciate it because we know that we can count on them; and they are helping our cause immensely. For every donation that one person gives, it goes out to three different people,” said Martins.

Martins expressed gratitude towards the group. “You’re doing a wonderful work not only for us here in Canada but also back home in the Philippines,” she said. “It’s great for no matter where you are in the world to work together for the common good and for the good of everyone and it’s a great mission and thank you and congratulations and continue doing it; it’s very important.”

UNTV hopes to conduct an even bigger public service in North America in the future. (NOEL POLIARCO / UNTV news)
