3:30 p.m. – Malacañang vs BFP
5 p.m. – PNP vs MMDA
7 p.m. – Senate vs Judiciary

Team Standings:
Group A: PNP 4-2, Malacañang 4-3,NHA 3-4, Senate 3-3.
Group B: AFP 5-1, BFP 5-2, MMDA 5-2, Judiciary 3-3.

Philippine National Police shrugged off a long break and downed Bureau of Fire Protection, 96-78, to regain the solo leadership in Group A even as defending champion Judiciary kept its flickering playoff hopes alive in the 4th UNTV Cup held last week at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Fresh from a three-week hiatus, the PNP Responders leaned on a torrid start and a stronger finish to snap a two-game losing skid and improve their record to 4-2.

Former University of the East player Ollan Omiping starred once again for the Responders as he exploded for 32 points on an impressive 12-of-17 shooting from the field while three other teammates also finished in double figures to help enhance the team’s outright semis bid.

Getting 24 points each from former PBA players Don Camaso and Ariel Capus, the Judiciary Magis defeated the National Housing Authority Builders, 83-78, for an even 3-3 win-loss record in Group B.

Warren Ybanez, the third former pro in the Judiciary squad, also produced solid numbers with 10 points, 6 assists and five rebounds in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon.

Metro Manila Development Authority likewise gained ground in the race for two outright semis berths by bringing Malacañang down to its knees, 64-51, tying BFP for second to third places with similar 5-2 cards.

BFP’s defeat enabled idle and former champion Armed Forces of the Philippines to regain the solo lead with a 5-1 mark.
