AFP Cavaliers: UNTV Cup Season 4 Champion
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — AFP Cavaliers recaptured the glory of season 2 by cutting short PNP Responders’ title bid and reclaiming the championship crown with score, 93-94 in a heart-stopping game 3 at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on Monday, March 14, 2016.
It can be recalled in the 2nd season that AFP faced the same situation with the PNP when the soldiers lost the first game of that series but won the two remaining games.
The two-time champions took home four million pesos, where 3.5 million will be given to their chosen charity while half a million goes to the team.
AFP Cavaliers’ beneficiary remains to be the AFP Educational Benefit System Office (AEBSO) that funds the schooling of the children of the wounded / died soldiers.
On the other hand, the 2nd placer PNP Responders, will bring home two million pesos.
The PNP Sports Development Program and Sangguniang Masang Pilipino International Foundation, Incorporated will receive P1.7M as the team’s chosen beneficiaries while P300,000 will go for the team.
Former PBA player Boyet Bautista playing for AFP was named as the Finals MVP .
