QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Liberal Party standard bearer, Mar Roxas conceded defeat to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in the presidential race.
Roxas wished Mayor Duterte success as partial vote count clearly declares him as the next president.
In his speech, Roxas thanked his supporters for supporting him all the way through his campaign.
However, he said that the fight is not over for Liberal Party as vice-presidentiable Leni Robredo is still in a tight fight.
He concluded his speech with a message about a peaceful and successful transfer of power and about patriotism. Supporters of Roxas became emotional during his media conference at LP Headquaters at Balay, Cubao, Quezon City.
