DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has now proclaimed the vice mayor and mayor in the city of Davao based on votes canvassed from 1,280 precincts.
COMELEC has earlier proclaimed Pulong Duterte as vice mayor garnering 522,519 total number of votes which is the highest number of votes for vice mayoralty.
Vice mayor Pulong Duterte missed attending the proclamation. Instead, Atty. Sweetheart de Vera received on his behalf the certificate of canvass and proclamation.
Inday Sara was proclaimed next, garnering 576,677 votes which is also the highest votes for mayoralty.
Inday Sara also missed the proclamation and her husband, Atty. Carpio, received the proclamation on her behalf.
After the proclamation, the COMELEC City Board of Canvassers had already adjourned in accordance with the election code.
The Dutertes were the last to be proclaimed since the congressmen and city councilors were already proclaimed yesterday. (JOEIE DOMINGO/UNTV News)
