Malacañang believes in the integrity of the elections and the ability of the Commission on Elections to conduct transparent and clean elections.
This is the statement of Malacañang amid allegations of election fraud.
According to Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, the accusations are untrue and unfounded.
The automated elections system is under the mandate of COMELEC and the Executive Branch has nothing to do with the election issues so it is impossible for any manipulation to occur as alleged by presidential candidate Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
“The automated election system is under the management of Commission on Elections. Executive branch has no participation. These include the Office of the President and all the branches of the national government regarding the uses of digital technology or an automated election system,” as Sec. Coloma explained.
Santiago and vice presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos questioned the election results at PPCRV after Camarines Sur representative surpassed Marcos in the VP race within a few hours.
There are also talks of manipulation in COMELEC’s transparency server after its hashcode was purportedly replaced with a new one.
“We can say that the president is continuously monitoring the developments with equanimity and objectivity,” Coloma assured.
