QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Incoming Police Chief PCSupt. Ronald Dela Rosa has edged three batches of the Philippine Military Academy.
Firstly, the Matikas Class of 1983 which has Director PCSupt. Jose Erwin Villacorte of Region 8; Directorate for Research and Development Dir. Rene Ong; and Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development Director CSupt. Kieth Singian.
Secondly, the Maharlika Class of 1984 that has Directorate for Intelligence Dir. Generoso Cerbo; Directorate for Operations Dir. Jonathan Miano; NCRPO Dir. Joel Pagdilao; and Logistics Support Service CSupt. Reuben Theodore Sindac.
Thirdly, the Sandiwa Class of 1985 that has PIO Chief PCSupt. Wilben Mayor; Highway Patrol Group PCSupt. Arnold Gunnacao; QCPD Director PCSupt. Edgardo Tinio among others.
Yet, some of the officers from Sandigan Class 1982 where PNP Chief PDG. Ricardo Marquez belongs to, are still active in service including Directorate for Investigation and Detection Management Dir. Benjamin Magalong; Directorate for Police Community Relations Dir. Wilfredo Franco who will be retiring in December this year;and Chief Directorial Staff Chief PDDG Francisco Uyami who remains in service until March 2017.
Mayor said such circumstance is expected.
“We always based our actions on the law, the tradition in the organization. Specifically Sec. 26 of Republic Act No. 6975 that the President can choose among senior officers with the rank of chief superintendent whom he wants to be the chief of the Philippine National Police,” he added.
For his part, incoming Chief PNP PCSupt. Ronald Dela Rosa said he will not relieve existing officers from their respective posts if they are doing their jobs well, just for the sake of placing his mistahs.
“That shouldn’t be the outlook of a father of an organization, you shouldn’t have a favorite son,” Dela Rosa said.
Whoever delivers good results within the 3 to 6 months should be given a position.
Dela rosa hopes that the said officers would help him accomplish the 3 to 6 months plan of eradicating crimes and illegal drugs in the country.
