NAGA, Philippines — Prior to her preclamation on Monday, the country’s new Vice President Leni Robredo has been busy over the weekend.

Last Saturday, Robredo was accompanied by her three daughters in visiting the final resting place of the late interior Secretary Jessie Robredo in commemoration of his natal day.

Leni led the unveiling of a bust dedicated to Jesse Robredo at Cararayan National High School.

In the evening, she led the oath taking ceremony of all winning local government officials in Naga City.

According to her daughter Aika, they didn’t plan for a victory party as they didn’t expect their mother to win as vice president of the Philippines.

Nevertheless, they are grateful for the support and confidence that the people have given to their mother.

Aika is the eldest daughter of Leni and the late Jesse Robredo.

She resigned from her job as at the Office of the Civil Defense to fully support her mother’s campaign.

Her two other siblings, Tricia and Jillian, also joined the campaign sorties despite being in regular schools.

Aika said, they were overwhelmed by the support that the Filipinos have shown to their mother gaining almost 14 million votes against her contender Bongbong Marcos.

Aika also assured that criticisms against her mother’s victory will not affect their family.
