QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Any member of the national police who is involved in illegal drugs and other unlawful activities in the country, must leave the institution.
According to PNP PIO Chief PCSupt. Wilben Mayor, such policemen have no room in the PNP as stated by President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.
“Like what we were saying before, corrupt policemen and those violating the law should be removed from the organization,” Mayor said.
Mayor added that they are continuously cleansing their ranks; even filing charges against some for violating their oath of service.
“These are some cases that we file especially if they involve police personnel, particularly serious crimes,” Mayor stated.
Mayor assured that policemen charged of misconduct will be given due process.
And should President-elect Rodrigo Duterte wish to tap the help of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in cleansing the PNP, Mayor said they would welcome it.
Thus, the PNP calls on all policemen who are still involved in illegal activities to stop being scalawags before the tough Duterte administration takes over.
