“If he is innocent, he would let us open his cellphone and if he is cleared, then we would consider this case closed.”
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency director general Arturo Cacdac has dared Lt. Col. Ferdinand Marcelino to hand over his personal phone for examination of messages, in order to prove his innocence over shabu operations inside a townhouse in Sta. Cruz, Manila in January.
The PNP-Anti Cybercrime Group that conducted the digital forensic examination on Marcelino’s mobile phone said, they are ready to testify in court should there be a need to present the messages recorded on the phone.
“If necessary and if the court will require us to attend, the forensic examiner who conducted the examination of course go to court to appeal in behalf if the ACG to present its findings,” PNP-ACG director P/SSupt. Guillermo Eleazar said.
Currently, there is no request yet from the court.
“We will present it but we are just waiting for the DOJ to resolve the case,” AIDG Legal and Investigation chief PSupt. Enrico Rigor said in a statement.
