BULACAN, Philippines — The Malolos Regional Trial Court Branch 19 has issued a warrant of arrest against four CAFGU members who are alleged accomplices of former Major General Jovito Palparan in the abduction of two farmers in San Ildefonso, Bulacan in 2006.
The prosecution said, the suspects are charged of kidnapping and serious illegal detention after they allegedly kidnapped and tortured siblings Raymond and Reynaldo Manalo who were suspected members of the New People’s Army.
“I’ll be happy if they will end up in jail. It’s a torture saying I’m an NPA member,” said victim Raymond Manalo.
The four suspects were identified as Dela Cruz siblings namely Michael, Jose, Maximo and Roman.
Once arrested, they will be detained at the Bulacan Provincial Jail in Malolos.
“The [court] issued a warrant of arrest for the suspects at large. Because the offense is serious, it’s non-bailable,” said Atty. Julian Oliva Jr. Raymond Manalo’s legal counsel.
The court sets the pre-trial on Palparan’s case on the kidnapping of the Manalo brothers on August 25 while the hearing for the kidnapping of two UP students, Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño is set on July 15.
