A member of Photoville International donates blood in a blood donation drive organised by the Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar.
DOHA, Qatar — The Embassy of the Philippines in Doha, Qatar accorded the blood donation campaign organized by three Filipino organizations namely Kamanggagawa Foundation Inc., Photoville International and UNTV.
Philippine ambassador to Qatar, Wilfredo Santos, said, the groups’ intention of helping those in need of blood is worthy of recognition.
“I commend the members of Kamanggagawa Foundation Incorporated, UNTV staff, and Photoville International for their participation in the recent blood donor drive organised by the Hamad General Hospital. This humanitarian gesture is a testament of the Filipino community in Qatar to be part of the efforts to ensure a blood supply by hospitals for the benefit of all the people in Qatar,” said Wilfredo Santos.
The blood donation campaign is a regular endeavor of the three groups that is held every quarter with a purpose of mainly helping foreign nationals and Filipinos.
The combined effort of the three groups has produced 32 bags from 40 volunteer donors. The bags were donated to the blood donor unit of Hamad Hospital.
It is just one of their charitable projects apart from free airfare tickets, overseas calls and toiletries for overseas Filipino workers in Qatar.
