DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Incoming Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III plans to start dialogue with the labor sector and other stakeholders to contemplate on the effects of the implementation of “no contractualization” and plans to conduct wage increase among employees.
Bello says, the incoming administration wants the business management and labor groups to arrive at an agreement on this issue.
He, however, disagrees that regularization and wage increase among employees could lead to business bankruptcy and loss.
It is, on the other hand, conducive to a company.
“As a matter of fact, I think it is better if your employees are regularized and they get the benefits under the law in order to have a well-motivated labor force,” Bello added.
Bello also says that an employee’s right to be regularized were also stated under the resolution of DOLE.
Meanwhile, Bello assures the that the government will protect workers in case job opportunities in the Philippines becomes low or they decide to work overseas.
