BULACAN — About 9,069 drug users and 290 pushers have surrendered to Bulacan PNP’s Oplan Tokhang.

The number of surrenderees has increased by almost 400 percent compared to last week’s 2500 surrenderees.

According to Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, they are expecting the number to reach 20,000 by next month.

PNP records show that 52 drug pushers have been killed in buy-bust operations.

The crime rate has decreased in the province since the surrender of many drug personalities.

“We have a 16.65% drop in crime rate here in Bulacan or a decrease of 1,147 incidents compared to the same period,” said Caramat.

Meanwhile, in the whole of Region III, Bulacan is leading in the number of surrenderees, followed by Pampanga and Nueva Ecija. More surrenderees are expected come from 300 barangays in Bulacan. (UNTV News & Rescue)
