CEBU CITY, Philippines — Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has mentioned in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) that he wants to fast-track government services.
He wants to reduce the number of requirements and deliver the necessary documents within three days only.
For their part, employees of the Government Insurance Service System (GSIS)are ready to comply with the president’s directive. However they seek the cooperation of the public in order to do so.
“We need your cooperation so we will be all compliant to the mandate of the president of the Philippines to deliver services within 72 hours,” said Vilma Fuentes,
branch manager of GSIS-Cebu.
They ask all applicants of agencies to report the name of a retiree and his or her date of retirement, one or two months before effectivity for them to reconcile the records and be able to release the benefits on time.
GSIS-Cebu assures to adhere with the executive order on freedom of information and has made their records available through “e-GSIS mo” or electronic GSIS membership online.
“Already accessible, e-mail or text us and we can give information so we are not that affected because it’s already happening,” added Fuentes.
Retirees may send an email to gsiscares@gsisi.gov.ph or call the agency’s hotline numbers 02-847-4747 for more inquiries. (GLADYS TOABI / UNTV News)
