MANILA — A shooting spree by a still unidentified suspect led to the death of two men in Elustre Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila at past 8:00 pm yesterday.

The victims were identified as Oscar Abella and Aldrich African, 37, who sustained gunshots on different body parts.

A sheet of paper with the words, “do not be like me. I’m a drug pusher and addict, and my house is a drug den,” inscribed on it was found beside the victims’ bodies.

Abella’s relatives refused to be shown on camera, but they confirmed that Abella was involved in illegal drugs, and did not surrender under PNP’s Oplan Tokhang.

Authorities found a CCTV camera installed near the crime scene, but barangay officials said it’s broken.

Meanwhile, Aldrich’s relatives are still in shock of the incident. According to Aldrich’s aunt, she does not know if her nephew was involved in illegal drugs.
“All I can say is, I seek justice for what happened to my nephew. Why did they do that?”

Recovered in the crime scene are bullet shells of .45 calibre, 9mm, and .40 calibre pistol. According to residents, two men wearing bonnets onboard a motorcycle, were seen in the vicinity after echoes of gunshots were heard. (BENEDICT GALAZAN / UNTV News & Rescue)
