LAGUNA, Philippines — Feliciano and Lorna Doria were dead on-the-spot after their daughter’s security guard suitor shot them multiple times in Barangay Poblacion Dos, Nagcarlan, Laguna yesterday afternoon.
The couple’s daughter, Francis Anne, 18, is in critical condition in a hospital after getting hit by a stray bullet.
Based on police investigation, Francis Anne turned down the suspect, identified as Richard Monfero, 34.
The jilted Monfero allegedly couldn’t accept the rejection so he turned on the girl’s parents for revenge.
According to Nagcarlan police investigator, PO3 Juanito dela Torre, the suspect showed up at the victims’ residence on Sunday and fired his gun at Doria’s parents.
After exchanging gun fire with police, the suspect shot himself in the head causing his death.
Authorities are temporarily closing the case but will continue with the investigation to find out if there were other events that led to the incident. (SHERWIN CULUBONG/UNTV News and Rescue)
