MANILA, Philippines — There is no official announcement yet on the declaration of holiday in Metro Manila for the ASEAN Summit in November according to Malacañang.
This was after a memorandum circulated on social media declaring special non-working holiday in Metro Manila because of the conduct of the 31st ASEAN Summit and related meetings on November 13 to 15.
It was addressed to DILG Undersecretary Catalino Cuy and was allegedly from the ASEAN Organizing Committee, but Malacañang denied its authenticity.
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella confirmed that the document circulating on the internet is not official.
“It is not official but I’m sure the statement will be forthcoming,” he said. – UNTV News & Rescue
