Manila, Philippines – The military has regained control of the bomb-making factory of the Maute terror group at the main battle area in Marawi City.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs Office Chief Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo said, military’s retaking of control over the Bato Mosque, which was turned into a bomb-making factory, is a huge loss to the terror group.
“They have used it as a bomb-making factory where they assemble IEDs. We have regained control of it,” Arevalo said.
In the said mosque, the military discovered many components used in producing improvised explosive devices or IEDs like coins, which are being used as shrapnel. – UNTV News & Rescue
