MANILA, Philippines – The ballot recount in connection with the election protest of former Senator Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo is about to begin this month.
“Pag nagsimula na recount lalabas na ang tunay na resulta at makikita na hindi naging tama ang pagbilang sa nakaraang halalan sa bise president (When the recount begins, the real result will come out and it will show that the counting of votes for vice president in the last election was erroneous.),” Marcos said.
Marcos said they are just waiting for the exact date of the ballot counting to be announced by the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
He said that around 39 provinces are set for the recount but the pilot project will include three provinces namely Iloilo, Negros Oriental and Camarines Sur.
It can be recalled that Robredo’s vote exceeded with more than 200.000 only over Marcos.
“Ang nawalang boto sa akin halos 4 million. Kaya’t kitang kita mo talaga na talagang nagbawas sila ng boto sa akin at siguro nilagay sa ibang kandidato ( I am missing almost 4 million votes. Its so obvious that they shaved off my votes and probably transferred it to other candidates),” Marcos said.
Marcos already paid P66-M to the tribunal for the cost of the recount.
He hopes that the result will come out before the end of 2017.
Meanwhile, Robredo’s camp said they are not aware as to where Marcos obtained his data regarding the results of the 2016 elections.
They said it will take more than 3 months to complete the recount process.
They also said that Marcos’s statement was meant to condition the minds of the public regarding his alleged loss. – Rey Pelayo | UNTV News & Rescue
