MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is encouraging all local government units to participate in the Earth Hour on March 24.
In a memorandum circular, the DILG has ordered local chief executives to turn off their lights, including lights on streets, signage and monuments in public areas.
DILG officer-in-charge Eduardo Año said that governors, mayors, and barangay captains should also encourage their constituents to turn off their lights from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening.
