MANILA, Philippines — The almost seven-month vocal battle of the biggest online singing competition Wishcovery concluded Tuesday night.
Fans of Wishful 5 Carmela Ariola, Hacel Bartolome, Kimberly Baluzo, Louie Anne Culala and Princess Sevillena flocked to the Big Dome to support their bets in the grand finals.
The scores of the first two rounds were computed from their last Wish Bus performance.
For round 3, the Wishfuls sang a medley of their previous performances but the challenge was to make foreign reactors Cicero Oca and Richie Rich appreciate OPM songs.
The next round showcased the Wishful 5’s ability to sing with a group as they perform an original composition of Wishcovery resident reactor Jungee-neer.
For the last part of the contest, the grand finalists gave their all in their solo performances.
Cavite’s Hacel was hailed the competition’s fourth runner-up who received P100,000.
Batanguena Wishful Carmela is the third runner-up winning a cash prize of P100,000.
Second runner-up is Bulacan’s Louie Anne taking home a total of P300,000.
Receiving half a million pesos is first runner-up Kimberly of Bicol and the first-ever grand winner is Metro Manila’s bet and wildcard pick, Princess.
She won P2-million worth of cash and contract, a house and lot and a brand new car.
Princess will also fly to New York for a musical training and a makeover.
“Thank you, Lord. Thank you so much. Big blessing talaga. Hindi talaga dapat sumuko. Dapat laban lang ng laban hanggang maabot mo ‘yung pangarap mo,” said Princess.

Star Music also sees great potential in the grand champion.
“Sobrang deserving ng winner natin and I’m very excited to work with her and talaga she would be the next big diva,” said Star Music audio content head Jonathan Manalo.

Meanwhile, aspiring singers should get ready for a bigger Wishcovery next season.
“Naka-ready na ‘yung Season 2 ng Wishcovery at mas malaki ang plano natin para dito. Hinihintay pa natin ang tamang panahon para i-reveal ito pero in the meantime ‘yun munang ating mga nanalo at especially yung Wishful 5 ‘yung kanilang kontrata sa atin, we will start to fulfill ‘yun. Ngayon ay binibigyan natin ng concentration ang pag manage sa kanila in collaboration with Star Music,” said Wishcovery originator, BMPI Pres. and CEO Kuya Daniel Razon.
