MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has vowed to follow the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to speed up deliberation on the impeachment complaint against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
The House speaker said they will immediately discuss the matter upon the resumption of Congress session on May 14.
To date, lawmakers await the articles of impeachment to be sent to the plenary.
Once majority of lawmakers vote in favor of the impeachment, it will be sent to the Senate to begin the trial. — UNTV News & Rescue
