MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang supports the ongoing investigation of the Office of the Ombudsman against presidential son and former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte.
It has been reported that the agency is still conducting probe against Pulong despite the dismissal of the charges against him in line with the P6.4 million shabu smuggling case.
There was no mention, however, of which particular case is currently being investigated.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, said “The Office of the Ombudsman has the power to investigate on its own and initiate proper action against public officers. We see this as part of the ombudsman’s constitutional mandate to ensure public accountability.” — Rosalie Coz | UNTV News & Rescue
