Complainant Jocelyn Marie Acosta
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – A private citizen filed charges of graft and violation of code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials against Solicitor General Jose Calida at the Office of the Ombudsman Thursday, May 10.
The complainant, Jocelyn Marie Acosta, claims that Calida owns a majority of shares in Vigilant Investigative and Security Agency which currently has a contract with four government agencies. She accused Calida of of failing to divest his business interests when he assumed post.
The SolGen was also charged for filing a defective quo warranto case against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno and for having an extra-marital affair that led to the diversion of OSG funds to his alleged mistress.
“That relationship has resulted in him mischanneling public funds of up to P1.8 million to his alleged lover. That’s corruption and immorality,” said Acosta.
Acosta is a vocal supporter of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno. — Grace Casin | UNTV News & Rescue
