QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will file charges tomorrow, May 11, against a barangay official proven to have links with illegal drug operations in his area.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino said the person is an incumbent barangay official in Metro Manila but he refused to disclose the name of the particular barangay.
PDEA maintained that the agency’s drug watch list is validated and typographical errors do not affect their actions against the individuals on the list.
“It doesn’t mean na (that) if there are some typo errors, it’s not validated. Ang pinagu-usapan namin dito is validated ba yung report na they are involved in drugs or not. Huwag natin masyado itingin kung wrong spelling o wrong, it just a typo error that’s simple,” Aquino defended. – Mon Jocson | UNTV News & Rescue
