QUEZON CITY, Philippines – All elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials will have to undergo a one-week mandatory training under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG.)
This was reiterated by DILG Assistant Secretary Jonathan Malaya during an interview on the program “Get it Straight with Daniel Razon” on Monday, May 14.
Malaya said the training, which will be held in state colleges and universities across the country, is a requirement to all youth officials before they officially assume office.
“Kung hindi niya natapos kailangang kumpletuhin niya ang modules namin para makaupo siya…It’s his responsibility na tapusin yun,” Malaya explained.
(The official needs to complete the module in order to assume office…it’s his responsibility to finish it.)
The training will be monitored by DILG officials. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate.
Malaya added that the position will remain vacant unless the newly elected youth official completes the training. – UNTV News & Rescue
