QUEZON CITY, Philippines – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) opens Monday, May 21, its “Diskwento Caravan” where the public may buy cheaper but quality school supplies prior to the opening of classes in June.
The project will roll off in various parts of Metro Manila and to other parts of the country.
Aside from low-priced items, DTI assured that the products in the Caravan are safe from toxic chemicals that may affect the health of students.
Meanwhile, the agency is set to begin its inspections to school supply stores in the coming days to make sure that DTI’s suggested retail prices (SRPs) issued in May are imposed.
“Diskwento Caravan” first stop is at UPRC Building in Gil Puyat Avenue and opens from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will run until May 25 before it changes location. – Mon Jocson
