QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Ride-hailing company Grab Philippines filed a petition Friday, May 25, to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) seeking for the re-imposition of its P2.00 per minute fare charge.
Grab argued that LTFRB’s suspension of its travel time charge violates the equal protection clause of the Constitution.
The company also noted that all new transport network companies (TNCs) that the LTFRB granted accreditation are imposing per minute charges based on their respective fare structures.
Last April 18, LTFRB suspended Grab’s per minute charge pending review of its legalities following oppositions from lawmakers to its implementation. – UNTV News & Rescue
