PASIG CITY, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) has allowed nearly 500 private schools to increase tuition fee this school year.
According to DepEd Undersecretary Jesus Mateo, a total of 478 from almost 11,000 private schools across the country will impose tuition hike this school year 2018-2019.
Mateo said this number may still increase because only six regions, including Metro Manila and Calabarzon, submitted their reports.
Undersecretary Mateo said most schools argued that the main reason for the tuition hike is to increase the salary and benefits of school employees. – UNTV News & Rescue
